Traction Alopecia is a hair loss condition that affects about 6.8 million people in the United States (North American Hair Research Society), and in some cases, it may seem almost impossible to treat for many professional hair stylists. Hair loss is common to begin near the hairline, the crown of the head, the sides of the head, or all over the head, and because African-American hair is very textured and sometimes dry, this causes the hair to be very vulnerable to damage and breakage. 

According to the Belgravia Centre, hair loss is the body issue that would make a woman feel less attractive. They recorded that 60% of hair loss sufferers would rather have more hair than money or friends, and almost half (47%) of hair loss sufferers would spend their life savings to regain a full head of hair.
